DESIGN
Arriving at a design is the first step in the building process. The design consultation
provides a foundation for gathering your ideas and cultivating a lasting relationship
between builder and client. We will work together to understand your goals and
create a harmonious blend of utility and elegance. During this procedure we will
address such things as desired function, budget, choice of materials and the
finishing particulars. Attention to our customer's needs culminates in a handcrafted
product with traditional joinery that is sure to endure.
TIMBER
FRAME FABRICATION & RAISING
Once the frame has been designed we will start cutting the pieces here in our
shop. Each stick is laid out, checked twice, roughed out with power tools, and
finished by hand with chisels. Next, each piece is pre-fitted in the shop, sanded
and oiled, then carefully loaded onto the truck to be shipped to your building
site. When the materials have been delivered the crew arrives at the site to
assemble and peg the frame to be raised. As each bent is raised, the floor joists,
connectors and purlins are put into place for strength and stability.
RESTORATION
We love to work on old timber frames too! Barns are a valuable resource that
is slowly disappearing from our landscape. We have not seen a barn yet that cannot
be saved! We would love to help you with yours. Call and arrange a consultation

CABINETRY
We are also builders of fine cabinetry, custom kitchens, and furniture. We love
to build with select hardwoods, white pine, and reclaimed lumber as well. We
enjoy working in a deeply rooted tradition of handcrafted, solid wood construction,
with an emphasis on grace and simplicity that will endure a lifetime. Let our
